How to choose the best course to study in Australia?
Popular course options (Study in Australia)
What to check before you choose a course
- The course must be registered on CRICOS for international students. Courses that are mainly online are not eligible for a Student visa.
- If you are planning to stay after graduation, check that the course is at least 2 academic years (92 weeks) to meet the Australian study requirement for the 485 visa and skilled visa points.
- Choose a course that is closely related to an occupation on the current skilled occupation lists if permanent residence is your goal.
- Studying at a campus in a regional area can give you extra points and a longer 485 visa.
- Your course must make sense for your background under the Genuine Student requirement. From 2 October 2026 most people cannot change to a lower level course while in Australia.
