About the Bridging visa B
A Bridging visa B (BVB) lets you leave and return to Australia while your substantive visa application, or your review at the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), is being processed. Points to keep in mind:
- You must hold a Bridging visa A or B and be in Australia when you apply.
- You usually need to give a substantial reason for travel, such as work, family or a wedding, with evidence.
- Apply at least 2 to 4 weeks before you travel. The BVB must be granted before you leave Australia.
- You must return to Australia within the travel period on your BVB. If you return late, you may not be able to re-enter.
- Holders of a Bridging visa C cannot usually be granted a BVB.
