Due to the high demand, competitive nature and the limited nomination quota of the Queensland skilled migration program there is no guarantee you will be selected for state nomination, and you need to consider your alternative migration options.

Migration Queensland will select candidates with occupations with a focus on helping address verified shortages in Queensland’s growing industries. These are:

Migration Queensland will be selecting candidates outside of Australia in occupations on the offshore Queensland Skilled Occupation List.
This list supports Queensland’s strongest skilled workforce needs, including:
- The transition to net zero and climate change adaptation.
- The delivery of more hospitals, upgraded schools, more housing and better transport under Queensland’s Big Build.
- Queensland’s increasing demand for health care.
