WA – Invitation Rounds

The Department of Home Affairs allows the Western Australia (WA) Government to nominate applicants for the following visa types:

If you are interested in being considered by the WA Government, you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) visa SkillSelect. SkillSelect is the program administered by the Department of Home Affairs.

State Nomination Streams

The WA Government State Nomination Migration Program has three streams:

  1. General stream WA SMOL Schedule 1
  2. General Stream WA SMOL Schedule 2
  3. Graduate stream

WA Skilled Occupation List

The WA government has just released their occupational lists in July 2021. There are now 3 lists to refer to:

  • Western Australian skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) – Schedule 1
  • Western Australian skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) – Schedule 2
  • Graduate Occupation List

English Language Requirements for WA State Nomination

The WA State Nomination Program requires applicants to demonstrate the following English language proficiency dependent on your occupation:

  • ANZSCO Group 1 – Managers or Group 2 – Professionals
    • English language equivalent to IELTS 7
  • All other occupations
    • English language equivalent to IELTS 6
