Tasmania Skilled Occupation List

The Tasmanian Skilled Occupations List (TSOL) identifies skills that are currently in demand in Tasmania and is derived from the list of eligible occupations for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491), as defined by the Australian Government. The occupations listed have been identified by the Tasmanian Government as areas of skills shortage in the State, based on the extent of evidence currently available. For more information and to check if your occupation is on the TSOl, see our page here.

Occupation Ceilings

The Tasmanian Skilled Migration program does not have any occupation ceilings for state nominations. Therefore, once you apply and receive a nomination through the SkillSelect program, you can immediately apply for a visa.

High Calibre 491 Applicants

The TAS Government allow for Subclass 491 applicants who can demonstrate their application as being “high calibre: can be considered for a Subclass 190 nomination even if they do not meet all the criteria. Applicants who believe their application is of a “high calibre” standard are encouraged to provide a written submission in their application for their request to be considered.
