Visa applicants around the world can now enjoy a more streamlined Australian visa process following the latest expansion of the Australian Immi App.
Eligible applicants are now able to submit their facial biometrics and passport information directly through their smartphone, eliminating the need to attend a biometric collection centre in person. The app is free to use, helping reduce the overall cost and effort involved in lodging a visa application.
To use the Australian Immi App, applicants must have previously provided their biometrics (facial image and fingerprints) to the Department of Home Affairs and hold a valid passport.
With the app now accessible across a wider global network, the Australian Government continues to deliver on its commitment to a faster, simpler and more convenient visa process.
What’s Next?
A final rollout covering all remaining countries in Australia’s biometric collection program is planned for early 2026. The Department of Home Affairs has acknowledged the positive uptake of digital services and aims to further expand access to Australia’s visa system in the year ahead.
For full details on eligibility, supported visa subclasses, technical requirements and step-by-step instructions, visit the Australian Immi App information page.
