Skills Assessment authority for Historian is Vocational & Education Training Assessment (VETASSESS). To have a positive skills assessment, you must meet the following criteria:

• Qualification assessed at Australian Bachelor degree or higher in a highly relevant field of study AND at least one year of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years
• Applicants must meet both the qualification and employment requirements to obtain a positive skills assessment
• A highly relevant field of study has a major focus on economics including the study of economic theory and the relationship to the production, distribution, and consumption of wealth

• Providing simultaneous and consecutive verbal or signed renditions of speeches into another language
• Rendering the meaning and feeling of what is said and signed into another language in the appropriate register and style in a range of settings such as courts, hospitals, schools, workplaces and conferences
• Studying original texts and transcripts of recorded spoken material to comprehend subject matter and translating them into another language
• Rendering the meaning and feeling of written material, such as literary, legal, technical and scientific texts, into another language in the appropriate register and style, so that it will read as an original piece rather than as a translation
