Visitor (subclass 600) Business Stream Visa – Checklist

Applicants with the following passports: China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam must apply for a SC600 – Subclass 600 Visitor visa

How to lodge an application:

Visa applicants must apply for the Visitor (subclass) 600 visa electronically through the Department of Home Affairs’ (Home Affairs) ImmiAccount portal. This is the single point of entry into the Home Affairs’ online visa services. Learn how to lodge an Visitor (subclass 500) visa application see below:

Important – visa lodgement:

It is strongly recommended that applicants apply 6-8 weeks of their intended travel dates of travel to ensure timely visa processing.

Home Affairs cannot guarantee that a visa will be finalised in time for the event if there are delays in lodging an application for a subclass 600 Visitor visa, or where an applicant does not respond to a request for further information in a timely manner.

What information is required?

It is critical to the success of your visa application that you answer all questions on the application form and supply all the requested supporting documents. Failure to do so could result in a significant delay or refusal of the visa application.

Travel Document
  • Passport
National Identity Document (other than Passport)
  • National ID Card – บัตรประจำตัวประชาชน (Bàt Prachamdtūa Prachāchon)
Evidence of the financial status and funding for visit
  • Host Letter of invitation(Lenovo Employee) / Host Letter of invitation(Guest)
  • Recent 3-6 months Payslips from your current employer 
  • Recent 3-6 Bank Statement shows salary from your current employer (Highlight salary received) 
  • Mortgage Document(if available)
  • Title Deed(if available)
  • Retirement Pension Book(if available)
  • Tax Document(if available)
Evidence of current employment or self-employment
  • Employment Confirmation Letter – Lenovo Employee/Employment Confirmation Letter – Guest
  • Recent 3-6 Bank Statement shows salary from your current employer (Highlight salary received)
  • Recent 3-6 months Payslips from your current employer
  • Evidence of Leave (if available)
Evidence of Intention to return
  • Marriage Certificate – If you are married and your spouse is not accompanying you to Australia
  • Birth Certificate (Children) – If you have children but they are not accompanying you to Australia
  • Birth Certificate (Applicant’s)- If you have elderly parent(s) who need care and they are not accompanying you to Australia
  • Family register book (if your country issues one)
Evidence of Travel history
  • Entry/exit stamped pages of the current passport, electronic visas if applicable
  • Entry/exit stamped pages of the expired passport, electronic visas if applicable
Business reason for travel to Australia
  • Conference Registration (Provided from your employer)
  • Letter from employer with current role
  • Letter from employer with reason for travel to Australia
  • Host Letter of invitation(Lenovo Employee)/Host Letter of invitation(Guest)
Family register and composition form (if applicable)
  • Family register book (if your country issues one)

Document translation requirements

Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by an English translation.

If you are in Australia when applying, use translators accredited by the National Accreditation Authority of Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). For more information, see NAATI.

If you are outside Australia when applying, the English translation must be completed by a qualified translator and must be endorsed by the translator with their full name, address, telephone number, and details of their qualifications and experience in the language being translated.

Alternatively you can use the services of MigrationTranslators who are a team of NAATI approved translators.

Scanning and attaching documents

You will need to correctly scan your documents so you can attach them to your online application:

  • Scan each document separately and include both sides.
  • If the original document is in colour, scan the document in colour.
  • Ensure you save each document using the correct file size and type requirements (see below for more detail).
  • You can attach files up to 5MB in size with the following extensions: bmp, dcm, doc, docx, dot, gif, jpg, pdf, png, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx.
  • Compressed files and encrypted pdf files cannot be accepted.
  • Where possible, scan the original document. Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by an English translation. See Document translation requirements section above.
  • If you attach low quality scanned documents, it may delay the processing of your application.
  • For documents containing more than one page, provide the pages in a single pdf document. For further assistance on how to scan multiple pages to the same pdf for your device/printer, review the instructional manual supplied with your individual device/printer. Alternatively, search the instructions using a web search with the following search terms: “How to scan multiple pages into one pdf printer name”. For example: “How to scan multiple pages into one pdf Hewlett Packard”.
  • There are limits to the number of documents/files you can upload.
