Professional Year (PY) Program
Australia’s Professional Year (PY) Program is a structured professional development initiative that helps international graduates of Australian universities to gain relevant work experience and skills in their chosen field. It is primarily offered in three industries: Accounting, IT, and Engineering.
Under the Skilled Migration Points Test, applicants can claim 5 additional points if they successfully complete a Professional Year in Australia. These points can be crucial for meeting the minimum points threshold required for visa subclasses like the Skilled Independent (subclass 189), Skilled Nominated (subclass 190), or Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) subclass 491 visas.

- Engineering
To be eligible, participants must:

- Hold or be eligible for a 485 Temporary Graduate Visa with a minimum of 12 months of validity, allowing them to stay and work in Australia.
