As it has become very difficult for accountants to obtain Australian Permanenet residency with the current points required to receive and invite for the normal 189 and 190 visas we are getting more and more enquiries from applicants who are thinking of moving to regional areas such as South Australia. Below is a list of scenarios and the criteria for each one.
SA (Graduate)
On the supplementary list and 3 years working experience
- English Requirement –
- Work Experience–
- At least one year of skilled work experience in the past three years, and If you are relying on Australian skilled work experience to meet the work experience requirement you are only eligible to apply if the last 6 months of your skilled work experience in Australia was undertaken in South Australia OR
- Graduate of South Australia – who is currently working for the last 6 months in a skilled occupation in South Australia (minimum 40 hours per fortnight) OR
- Graduate of South Australia – who has resided continuously in South Australia for at least 5 years and who is currently working for the last 3 months in a skilled occupation in South Australia (minimum 40 hours per fortnight). OR
- High Performing Graduate (does not need work experience) – who has continued to reside in South Australia post-graduation and have completed one of the following qualifications from a South Australian public university (within the last two years) with the required Grade Point Average (GPA) listed below:
- Completed a PhD or Masters by Research; or
- GPA of 6.0 or above in Masters by Coursework degree (following completion of a Bachelor degree in South Australia); or
- First Class Honours in a dedicated Honours year (following completion of a Bachelor degree in South Australia); or
- GPA of 6.0 or above in a Bachelor degree.
SA (Graduate) – Accountant
On the supplementary list and 3 years working experience and 12 months for graduate
- English Requirement –
- Work Experience–
- Graduate of South Australia – who is currently working for the last 12 months in a skilled occupation in South Australia (minimum 40 hours per fortnight) OR
- High Performing Graduate (does not need work experience) – who has continued to reside in South Australia post-graduation and have completed one of the following qualifications from a South Australian public university (within the last two years) with the required Grade Point Average (GPA) listed below:
- Completed a PhD or Masters by Research; or
- GPA of 6.0 or above in Masters by Coursework degree (following completion of a Bachelor degree in South Australia); or
- First Class Honours in a dedicated Honours year (following completion of a Bachelor degree in South Australia); or
- GPA of 6.0 or above in a Bachelor degree.
SA (non- graduate)
On the supplementary list and 3 years working experience
- English Requirement –
- Work Experience –
- At least one year of skilled work experience in the past three years, and if you are relying on Australian skilled work experience to meet the work experience requirement you are only eligible to apply if the last 6 months of your skilled work experience in Australia was undertaken in South Australia AND
- At least 3 years of working experience in the nominated field (does not have to be In the last three years) AND
- Currently working in South Australia – The requirement for these occupations is that you are currently working for the last 6 months in a country region of South Australia or the last 12 months in Greater Adelaide in your nominated or closely related occupation (for a minimum 20 hours per week)
SA (non-graduate)
Not on the supplementary list and additional criteria
- English Requirement –
- At least one year of skilled work experience in the past three years, and If you are relying on Australian skilled work experience to meet the work experience requirement you are only eligible to apply if the last 6 months of your skilled work experience in Australia was undertaken in South Australia AND
- Currently working in South Australia – The requirement for these occupations is that you are currently working for the last 6 months in a country region of South Australia or the last 12 months in Greater Adelaide in your nominated or closely related occupation (for a minimum 20 hours per week)
