Important: the 457 visa has closed
The 457 visa closed to new applicants on 18 March 2018. It was replaced by the TSS visa, which was in turn replaced by the 482 Skills in Demand (SID) visa on 7 December 2024. The fees below are the old 457 charges. For the 482 Skills in Demand visa from 1 July 2026 the government charges are: sponsorship $420 and nomination $330 (paid by the employer), plus the Skilling Australians Fund levy ($1,200 or $1,800 per year of the visa, depending on turnover), and a visa application charge of $4,015 for the main applicant, $4,015 for each additional applicant aged 18 or over and $1,005 for each child under 18. A subsequent temporary application charge of $700 may also apply. See SID 482 visa fees. The information below is kept for reference.
