457 Visa Requirements

The 457 visa application must either be lodged after the sponsorship and nomination, or at the same time.

457 Criteria

To obtain a 457 visa, your employee will need to meet the following requirements:

• Show that they meet the skill level for the nominated occupation;
• Hold the necessary licensing or registration for certain occupations
• Pass health criteria and hold private health cover for their stay in Australia
• Meet the English language requirement for 457 visas.

Once the visa is granted, the visa holder will be subject to work condition 8107 – in general terms, this requires the sponsored employee to continue working for the sponsor in the nominated occupation.
